HR/EHS Coordinator with Health and Safety experience required on either a perm or contract basis for a leading BioPharmaceutical company.
Role
Working with the EHS Lead in the US to support the transition of the company’s EHS strategic plan into a definable working plan complete with agreed timelines and measures. Acts as the UK’s primary interface with Global, advising on EHS activities including, but not limited to, audits, global corporate initiatives, EHS awards and corporate metrics.
Liaises with Fleet Management on all aspects of Company Cars.
Key responsibilities
* Oversight for all matters pertaining to EHS ensuring that the site meets all UK, European and Global compliance requirements.
* Works with Senior EHS Lead to ensure alignment and compliance to regulations under the UK Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, build, create and manage a solid policy in the form of an EHS Program and Car Procedure and creates an appropriate plan that delivers the requirements and safety controls.
* Primary interface for the leadership team on all matters relating to EHS.
* Primary contact for internal and external EHS Audits including response to Audit requests, audit logistics and overseeing deliverables.
* Manage appropriate level of communication to deliver engagement in EHS activities.
* Communicate all events that impact the site both directly and indirectly.
* Manage Fleet Management company on all aspects and day to day running of company cars including car order and budget approvals, incident investigation and escalation and safety training programme, preferred supplier negotiations and company car driver safety engagement.
* Manage car procedure penalty programme and implement clear guidance and tools to equip managers for their responsibilities.
Experience and Qualifications
* 2-3 years experience of managing Health and Safety in the workplace previously.
* EHS qualification equivalent to NEBOSH General Certificate – preferred but not essential
* Fleet management – preferred but not essential
* Passion for Health and Safety is a must!
